| Senior Warden Notes - August 2008 |
As you can tell, construction on the new building is going full blast. The contractor is
concentrating on completing the school construction on or before August the 15th. As the
walls go up and the interior of the building is starting to be defined, one can tell what a
beautiful and useable new structure we will have.
The building committee has asked the architect and contractor to submit a bid to complete
the building as it was originally designed. It would be a shame if we have to leave part of the
building unfinished because of the lack of a few thousand dollars. If anyone who has not
made a pledge to the future of St. Christopher Church would like to contribute, building fund
pledge cards are available. We would love to be able to complete the addition and retire the
remaining debt on the new building so that we can concentrate on using our new building to
the glory of God.
I have heard some people say that we should not be building a new addition to the church
during the trying and turbulent times that the Episcopal Church is going through, but I feel
that our whole belief in Jesus Christ is based on faith. Faith has sustained St. Christopher for
the past 50 years and I believe that it will sustain us for the next 50 years.
