Program: St. Christopher Preschool is a non-profit Episcopal Day School serving children 2-4 years old since 1960. St. Christopher Preschool is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and is a member of Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools, National Association of Episcopal Schools, and Texas Licensed Child Care Association.

Our dedicated, experienced instructors attend continuing education workshops throughout the year, exceeding state licensing requirements. St. Christopher Preschool maintains a family atmosphere facilitated by a low teacher/student ratio. Our goal is to provide the BEST possible preschool education in a safe, secure and nurturing environment.

Curriculum: St. Christopher Preschool provides a curriculum which focuses phonics, math, science, language, art, and development of both fine motor and large motor skills.

The two-year-old class primarily focuses on developing social skills and language skills. Pre-reading and pre-writing skills are also introduced.

The three-year-old class continues developing the social and language skills with more emphasis on pre-reading, pre-writing, and math skills.

The curriculum for the four-year-old class focuses on phonemic awareness, as well as other pre-reading, pre-writing, math and science skills.  Curriculum utilizes resources from Scholastic, Frog Street Press, Weekly Reader, Newbridge and other age appropriate preschool resources.

Chapel:  Basic tenets of the Christian faith are incorporated in a daily Chapel Service and presented through Bible stories, songs and prayer.

School Calendar: The school year is divided into two semesters. The first semester begins in August and ends in December. The second semester begins in January and ends in June. St. Christopher School CLOSELY follows the Fort Worth ISD traditional school year calendar WITH some exceptions. School closings or delayed openings due to inclement weather, local or national emergencies are usually the same as Fort Worth ISD. This information is available on local television stations as well as Fort Worth ISD websites (Facebook and Twitter sites included).

Class Schedule: St. Christopher Preschool offers three class schedules; a daily class, a Monday/Wednesday/Friday class, and a Tuesday/Thursday class. Extended care is available for children enrolled in the school.

Preschool Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Extended Care:

Extended Care Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

AM Care is offered daily from 7:45 am until 8:30 am for $3.75 per day. Children may be dropped off between 8:15 am and 8:30 am at no charge.

Stay and Play is offered daily from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm at a cost of $3.75 per hour. Children who are not picked up by 12:45 pm will be taken to Stay & Play.

Tuition may be paid annually, per semester, or monthly (5 payments each semester). Discounts are available for St. Christopher Church members (10%), a second child enrolled (10%), or prepayment of annual tuition (5%). Only one discount per family is applied.

The first month’s tuition and fall supply fee must be paid at the Parents’ Meeting in August. No child will be allowed to start school until all fees are paid. Thereafter, tuition is due on the 1st of each month and is considered late after the 10th. There will be a $15.00 late charge assessed on any unpaid balance on the 11th of each month. If past due accounts are not paid in full by the 25th of the following month, your child will not be allowed to return to school until the balance is paid. This policy will be strictly enforced unless the director is informed of special circumstances which prevent prompt payment. Returned checks are subject to a $25.00 non-sufficient funds check charge.

Registration Fee:

The registration fee is $75.00 for all classes, is non-refundable and is to be submitted with the registration form.

Health Forms: Health forms and a copy of immunizations, which require a doctor signature and documentation of Vision and Hearing screenings, MUST be on file in the school office BEFORE the child attends the first day of class as mandated by the state of Texas. These forms will be mailed to you. VISION AND HEARING SCREENING IS MANDATORY ACCORDING TO TEXAS HEALTH CODE FOR ALL CHILDREN WHO ARE FOUR BY SEPTEMBER FIRST OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. Most of the time this is done at the child’s 4 year well check-up appointment.

Administration of Medication: Asthma medications are the only medications which will be administered to a child while at school other than basic first aid for scrapes and cuts. Asthma medication must be in the original container labeled with the child’s name and physician’s instructions. The parent must also complete and sign a medical authorization form.

St. Christopher Preschool - “Teaching our Future”

Registration for the 2011-2012 school year is underway. Registration for current families begins on Tuesday, March 22.  Enrollment will open to the general public on Monday, April 11, 2011.  To register, please complete the Registration Form  included on this page. Return the completed form and the annual, non-refundable $75.00 registration fee per child to St. Christopher School. The registration fee will ensure your child’s enrollment in the class. Other required paperwork will be mailed to you at a later date.  There will be a parent meeting and a meet the teacher evening in August when supply fees and tuition will be due.
